Park View Community Mission

We are most well-known for our help, providing food and clothing for those in need, but we never want to simply give a handout. We want to do more, with a “hand up,” offering an opportunity for healing… restoring lives by empowering people with new skills, so they can build their own bridge from their present circumstances toward a better lifestyle.

Our passion, however, is to go a step further, by offering a “handshake.” In all we do we seek to build personal relationships. We want people to know that they are loved, and that they can find the hope that everyone needs to live a full and purposeful life.

Welcome to Lynchburg Daily Bread

We serve a hot, nutritious lunch seven days a week from 10:50 A.M. to 12:20 P.M, including holidays. Volunteers from the greater Lynchburg community prepare, cook, and serve the meals, which are provided to the homeless and hungry of our community. Each recipient is seated and served by one of our caring volunteers. Our guests may have as many servings as they wish. In 2017, 40,732 meals were served from our downtown kitchen, and an additional 29,642 were given out in through our meals outreach program We also offer a small morning shelter for the homeless, starting at 7 am with coffee, milk and cereal served from 7-9am.
