The Virginian Hotel’s elegant ballroom was filled to capacity on February 20 as Best Of winners, sponsors, and attendees gathered for an unforgettable evening.

Guests enjoyed an exceptional culinary experience, thanks to 221 Tap and Table, Downtown Cairo, Fleming Mountain Grill, Long Mountain Grill, Market at Main, My Dog Duke’s Diner, Skyline Grill at The Virginian Hotel, The Sweet Fox Baking Studio, The Virginian Hotel, and William & Henry Steakhouse. 

The celebration continued on the dance floor as winners and guests sang and danced the night away to the incredible sounds of The Chapstix. Laurie Gulluscio of Gold Thread Marketing & Events and Megan Lucas of the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance graciously emceed the event.

Guests enjoyed an exceptional culinary experience, thanks to Bentleys on Bedford, Skyline at the Virginian, Downtown Cairo, Sweet Indulgence Bakery, The Virginian Hotel, Mellow Mushroom, Playa Bowls, Market at Main, County Smoak, and William & Henry Steakhouse. As they sampled a variety of mouthwatering local flavors, attendees cast their votes for the evening’s top restaurant. Downtown Cairo earned Gold in the People’s Choice awards, with County Smoak taking Silver and Market at Main securing Bronze.

The celebration continued on the dance floor as winners and guests sang and danced the night away to the incredible sounds of Apple Butter Soul. Sarah Blankenship, representing Pierce Street Gateway—this year’s nonprofit partner—graciously emceed the event.

The Virginian Hotel’s stunning ballroom was filled to the brim on January 14 with Best Of winners, sponsors, and attendees.

The food was incredible, thanks to Bootleggers; Skyline at the Virginian; Downtown Cairo, Sweet Indulgence Bakery; JD’s Mobile Cafe; The Virginian Hotel; Purple Door Gourmet Kitchen & Catering; The Water Dog; Repast Catering; Georgia’s Subs, Salads, and More; and William & Henry Steakhouse. As guests sampled from mouth watering local cuisine, they voted on their favorite restaurant for the evening. JD’s Mobile Cafe took home the People’s Choice award for the night, and Downtown Cairo was awarded the Judge’s Choice.

Winners and attendees danced (and sang) the night away alongside the incredibly talented Pleading The 5th Band, and crowd favorite Chief Meteorologist George Flickinger (WSET) emceed the evening.

Guests also enjoyed documenting the evening alongside Sanders Family Photo Booth.

On November 8, 2022, Lynchburg Living magazine had the honor and privilege of recognizing area businesses and non-profit organizations who are working tirelessly to support our city and its community.

Taking place at the Academy Center of the Arts, it was a night of fun and celebration, with two unique groups coming together to recognize the spirit of generosity and community that is so prevalent in our area. Those who were presented with awards brought a crowd of supporters, mentors, and colleagues to cheer them on, which made for an even more festive occasion. While attendees and honorees mingled and connected with one another, they indulged in a delicious spread of food provided by Friends Catering.

Awards were presented by Lynchburg Lynchburg editor, Megan Williams.

The Virginian Hotel was transformed into a “Swing Era” party on Feb. 1, as Lynchburg Living celebrated our 2020 Best Of Lynchburg winners.

Guests were encouraged to dress in costume—and many did! They enjoyed delicious food provided by 10 local restaurants, with Simply Vanilla Gourmet Cheesecakes taking home the evening’s Best Restaurant Award. Our 3rd Annual Top Teachers reception was held on March 4; hosted by The Timberlake Tavern and catered by Friends Catering, the event drew nearly 100 guests to honor some of the region’s best educators.
